So its known Google has this thing of creating 2 services that are the same and many would think that is the case with Android One and Android Go. This time around these 2 programs are not the same and in this blog i will explain what they are and why they are different. It is important know what they are about so you'll have a better understanding what they are meant for as today there are many who still don't understand what these 2 programs are about. So lets go over both.
Android Go is Google's attempt to bring Android and smartphones to places that don't have a well cellular infrastructure. These devices dont have the best specs around as most of the devices in the Android Go program house around 8-16GB of internal storage with 512mb ram to 1GB of ram with using the snapdragon 210 chipset to newer but lowend chip from qualcomm and mediatek. They dont have the best camera sensors as the chipset is very low end so image processing is not main focal point to a device that isnt made to have high performance.
Android One is very different from the Go program as its a revival of the Nexus program Google had before Pixel came out. The Nexus program started as a developers tool for making android apps work for their current OS version. They became popular with consumers who wanted pure vanilla android experience. It was a great program that show cased what a OEM could do partnered with Google to make a device and to have more updates than other android devices. When Google released the Pixel devices they killed the Nexus and a lot consumers got mad. That is one of the reasons why Android One was born although most consumers havent gravitated towards Android One with Google lacking in marketing the Android One program.
